Great-grandparents

Well, great-grandparents are great-grandfather and great-grandmother.

Great-grandfather is:
– the father of your grandfather
– the grandfather of your father
– and the husband of your great-grandmother.

Great-grandmother is:
– the mother of your grandmother
– the grandmother of your mother
– and the wife of your great-grandfather.

Based again on the sample of the British royal family, let’s see the blood kinship of the different members of the royal family from the view and angle of the great-grandparents. Check the illustration below!

Grandparents

In a similar fashion, grandparents are grandfather and grandmother.

– the father of your father
– the son of your great-grandparents
– and the husband of your grandmother.

Grandmother is:
– the mother of your mother
– the daughter of your great-grandparents
– and the wife of your grandfather.

Remark: A person can have grandparents and great-grandparents from both directions, mother and father.

The word “children” is the plural of “child” which, in turn, is synonymous with the word “kid”.
